Security and Permissions

Laurus Xpress offers 3 different levels of content security:

  • Public - Anyone can view these pages.
  • Private - Users are required to login in order to view these pages.
  • Specified Private - Only specified users can login and view these pages.

To allow only specific users to view a webpage, click on "Site Tools" in the admin toolbar. The Xpress Public Login system must be enabled on your website, if it is not enabled you will not be able to access the page permissions control panel. Contact Laurus Development to enable this feature.

Setting permissions for Users

Select the webpage(s) from the left hand side of the form by checking the box next to the page name. Click the "View Users" button in the toolbar to display a list of users for your website. Select the user(s) from the right hand side of the form by checking the box next to the users name. Click the "Save Viewers" button in the toolbar to save your settings.

Setting permissions for Editors

To allow only specific users to edit a webpage, select the webpage(s) from the left hand side of the form by checking the box next to the page name. Click the "View Editors" button in the toolbar to display a list of editors for your website. Select the editor(s) from the right hand side of the form by checking the box next to the editors name. Click the "Save Editors" button in the toolbar to save your settings. To remove editors, select the page you wish to remove them from then select the editors you wish to remove. Click the "Remove Editors" button to save your settings.

Using the Page Permissions Report Panel

Click the button for the page you wish to see a report on. Your settings for that page will appear in the right hand column. A list of viewers and editors for the selected page will appear. If you have not yet selected any viewers or editors for that page you will see the message "No Permissions Set".
